From the Coach House

A View of Old Government House from the Coach House.

We are excited to announce that we will take part in HistorySA’s History Month events this year. Our opening times are Saturday 1st May and Sunday 2nd May from 1 pm to 4.30 pm. We will serve Devonshire Tea on the terrace, if it is warm. If it’s cold, we’ll move inside the newly renovated Coach House. Representatives from the Victoriana Society will attend dressed in full Victorian costume.

Pianists will be playing the 1843 Warnum Piano in the Dining Room, as well as the Broadwood Piano in the Servants’ Quarters.  The mother of famous aviators Sir Keith and Sir Ross Smith, Jessie Smith, owned the Broadwood Piano, dated 1893.

Items from the newly acquired Violet Rowe collection will also be on display.

Open days through to April 2021

Hours are 1 pm to 4.30 pm:  $10.00 including afternoon tea;  Tour only $5 each.
