Old Government House lies in the heart of Belair National Park and is the former Vice-regal summer residence of some of the early governors of South Australia. Fully restored during the 1970s and upgraded in 2001, the building stands as an excellent example of Victorian-style architecture and represents a significant period in the state of South Australia’s history.

Old Government House is located 11 kilometres south of Adelaide. It is looked after by a dedicated group of volunteers, the Friends of Old Government House, with the support of The Department of Environment and Water.

Weather Forecast

If the temperature is 35 degrees or over, all events scheduled by the Friends of Old Government House will be cancelled, except for the AGM, which would be rescheduled for the following month. Old Government House will be closed for all activities including Open Days, and gardening.  The closure will be determined by the Bureau of Meteorology forecast temperature on Friday night before an activity.
