Come and Join Us

The Friends of Old Government House are an active group of volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds with a common interest in preserving Old Government House and its gardens.

If you are fascinated by the Colonial History of South Australia, and like meeting people, you’d make an ideal guide.     Old Government House is open 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.  It’s our ambition to open every Sunday, and in order to do that we need volunteers.

We also need administrative help.  We have embarked on an ambitious project to digitise all our records, and properly catalogue our books.  So, if you have computing knowledge, and a bit of spare time, give us a call.  Now the Coach House has been redeveloped we have set up an office area on site.

Or, if you love gardening come and join the garden group.  We meet every Saturday and Monday morning from about 9 am to about 11.00 am.  Any level of expertise is very welcome.  You don’t need to stay for the whole session and you don’t need to come every week.

Fees:  $15.00 per year for single members, or $25.00 for family members (2 adults)
